The president and co-founder for Valve Corporation, Gabe Newell, had a recent AMA at Reddit. There he revealed the status of a few of his games including "Left 4 Dead's" last leg. Fans have been hoping for the third leg of the franchise for a long, long time now and it seems like Newell remained non-committal about the plausibility of the trilogy.

Left 4 Dead 3 Not Really Happening

The first person shooter survival horror game "Left 4 Dead" has raving fans looking for the third installment. When it released in 2008, the game was a massive hit both critically and on sales. But it would seem like none of these are remarkable to the creators because they remain unsure about "Left 4 Dead 3".

Valve Corporation is notorious in their lack of gusto to finish a trilogy. As the creators of hit games such as "Dota 2", "Half Life", "Portal", "Team Fortress 2" and more, Valve Corporation has never been known to complete a trilogy. And this is what concerns fans the most, especially when "Left 4 Dead 2" was released in 2009 and the third leg is nowhere in sight.

But diehard fans are not ready to give up just yet that's why when Newell announced he will be on Reddit for an AMA, fans flocked like hungry birds. Most were really only there to get an update about "Left 4 Dead 3" but Newell's answers just went south and north to the direction of disappointment, NSEA Voice reported.

Newell's Statements Go From North To South

In all fairness, Newell never really said there will be a "Left 4 Dead 3". But this doesn't stop bloodthirsty fans from hoping there'd be. There was also a leak last year purporting to the development of "Left 4 Dead 3" but Newell only said the game is a good place for shared narratives, Game Rant reported.

That's it. He was asked about the future of the "Left 4 Dead" series and he said they will develop a game based on several factors which are: technology that has traction, the number of people who are willing to put hours on it, and the game's property that poses design challenges and serves as a good playground for the specific technology.
