Apple's iOS 11 is the upcoming major update for the Apple devices. The upcoming Apple operating system is said to bring new updates and features to the iPhone. The new iOS 11 is expected to roll out in beta in June 2017 at Apple's event, dubbed as the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

The FaceTime app in iOS 11 gets support for group video calls. Reports are claiming that the Cupertino based tech giant is working to make its FaceTime app more social friendly by installing group calling feature which will support up to 5 persons in a single video call.

The iOS 11 video calling feature will be initialized by means of the inbuilt iMessage app. The group calling feature of iOS 11 is said to split up the display on the iPad or iPhone into four windows, which means the caller will be able to view the participants of the group video chat, according to BGR.

The development for the iOS 11 video calling feature is being carried out in Israel. In addition, the tech company is also working on upgrading its iMessage app by adding photo filters and stickers similar to apps like MSQRD and Snapchat. All these upgrades resemble to Faceshift, a company which Apple purchased in 2015, GSM Arena reported.

Faceshift whose technology can capture the facial expressions of the users, and dramatically change it into a 3D avatar in real time. Faceshift was responsible for the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" special effects. Wherein, Apple might utilize the technology in the upcoming iOS updates to intensify the user experience.

That being said, there are some other striking features that are slated to come along with iOS 11. As Apple Inc. has been granted a patent, the finger detecting dynamic keyboard feature can make its way into the next iOS iteration.
