Audi recently unveiled the all-new R8 Spyder V10 starting price, which is pegged at $176,350 including tax, title, and registration.

The Audi R8 V10 Spyder uses the same 5.2-liter V-10 engine found in the standard Audi R8 cope, which gives 540 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque with a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission. This performance allows the R8 Spyder to hit 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 198 mph.

The automatic electrohydraulic mechanism in this convertible can fold the top down in 20 seconds while driving at speeds of up to 31mph (miles-per-hour).

It can accelerate to 60mph in 3.5 seconds, free-revving up to 8,700rpm (revolutions-per-minute). It has a top speed of 198mph.

The aluminum and carbon fiber chassis incorporates new reinforcements into the R8 Spyder's sills, A-pillars, and windshield frame, making it 50% stiffer than the previous model. This translates to better handling and accelerating power.

The R8 Spyder has a driver-oriented cockpit, complete with a user-friendly 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit display that refreshes the displayed information at 60 frames-per-second. The seats adjust in 18 directions.

It also supports Audi Connect, allowing users to utilize and access 4G LTE connectivity, destination entry via myAudi, travel information and Wi-Fi hotspot. It also has the Bang and Olufsen sound system with speakers embedded in the headrest.

The unit has so far been receiving a positive response.

"The Audi R8 V10 Spyder is no longer a car for Shrinking Violets. It shouts its supercar intentions with bright colors and sharp creases that rival those of Lamborghini," Autorevolution wrote.

On the other hand, Wired noted that the car provides "for a visceral driving experience, one that mainlines the glorious roar of internal combustion directly into your bloodstream."

Meanwhile, Automobilemag noted that the launch of the R8 Spyder coincides with the 2017 IMSA championship kick-off, which happens on Saturday, the 28th of January.
