Google Daydream vs Oculus Rift: Exterior

It's hard not to judge the outward appearance of the two gears. First, Oculus Rift resembles a brick with black color. The hardware is elegant but rather bulky. On the other hand, the Daydream isn't anything like the previously plastic and black VR headset. It's a refresh of the kind of gear and it's got washable soft surface - which makes it the winner in round 1.

Daydream offers immersive virtual reality experience without being too heavy, at just 220 g of weight. Weight can be a deciding factor aside from how the headset fit on our head.

 The AMOLED Full HD display allows a crisp screen and those with a Pixel phone can enjoy 1920 x 1080 display resolution, Wareable reported.

Oculus was Vive's competitor before Daydream arrived. It's got OLED display with 3D audio effect coming from the integrated headphones.

Google Daydream will have more content database to be added and there will also be major flagships to have the compatibility feature with the headset. After Pixel phones and Moto Z series, smartphone brands including HTC, Xiaomi, Asus and LG have promised to make Daydream-ready phones. This makes Google headset more versatile than Oculus Rift.

NBA games are heading to Daydream platform according to Android Central and more top titles are expected to come. As far as the software platform is concerned, Google has all of the advantages in the department and it will have the potential to strive in the VR competition.
