The credit card sized computer is getting support from Google AI and machine learning tools as the tech titan looks to get close to the maker community. This fantastic news possibly offers aids to empower several projects that Raspberry Pi has for this year. Is Google doing it for higher returns?

Google to Raspberry Pi: Reasons Other Than High Returns

Raspberry Pi is a series of small sized computers manufactured in Wales, England. Its main purpose is to teach basic computer science in all parts of the globe, especially in developing countries. Now it's increasingly being used in the business community and Google wants to lend a hand.

Higher returns, however, are not what Google has in mind to reach out to the maker community. They launched a survey and asked the community about smart tools that would be most helpful. The results returned are tools to help emotion and face recognition, predictive analytics, natural language processing, sentiment analysis, speech-to-text translation, and more.

Google said they're interested in making smart tools for Raspberry Pi Makers so they launched the survey in Pi Foundation's website, Tech Crunch reported. That's it. Google just wants to make a better world by reaching out to the makers' community.

Advantages of Google AI to Pi Makers

The founder of Raspberry Pi foundation, Edward Upton, says this fantastic move from Google will enable their makers to build smart devices that will interact with the world, BBC reported. It's the most popular computer that UK ever built and they have sold 10 million units since they started.

Makers could gain access to the TensorFlow machine, which is an open source library. They can also use the OpenCV computer vision library, which will help with the face recognition aim. Those and a wealth more of dev tools await Makers of Raspberry Pi.

Upton further said that AI and deep learning bear plenty of opportunities. Google is one of the mightiest in this area especially after the DeepMind acquisition. Obviously the foundation will reap plenty of benefits from Google's services as it will deliver the goal of teaching youngsters coding faster.
