Neil Gaiman fans, rejoice. "Good Omens" is set to have a TV adaptation next year. With the success of "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" and upcoming release of "American Gods" on Starz, many are hoping that the "Good Omens" small screen version will bring favorable outcomes as well.

Good Omens: what is the novel about?

"Good Omens" was the only collaboration between the two best-selling fantasy authors before Pratchett passed away in 2015. Per Den of Geek, "Good Omens" talks about the story of the approaching end times and follows characters who are either leaning towards avoiding the apocalypse or actively seeking to bring about Armageddon. From an improbable partnership between an angel and a demon, to a bizaare hospital mix-up with the birth of the antichrist, the story definitely looks hilariously entertaining.

"Good Omens": all systems go for TV

According to The Telegraph, Gaiman has written all six episodes of the show, which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2018 and will later be broadcast on BBC television.

Gaiman said that almost 30 years ago, he and Pratchett wrote the funniest novel they could about the end of the world. Seeing the characters brought to life from the novel's pages and mingle as moving characters, it would be interesting to watch the angels and demons and not to forget, the 11-year-old Antichrist. The plot seems very rousing for any fantasy-loving aficionado.

Gaiman also added that he can't think of anyone else they'd rather make it with than BBC Studios. He just wishes Pratchett was still alive to see it. "Good Omens" was previosuly adapted as a BBC radio drama starring Peter Serafinowicz as the demon Crowley, but this will be the first time the novel's characters will appear on screen.
