A simulation of "Madden NFL 17" made almost a year ago predicted Atlanta Falcons' most recent win. The football team defeated the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game over the weekend.

The "Madden NFL 17" 2016 season simulation was held in August by Will Brinson of CBS Sports. In that simulation, the Falcons triumphed over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl LI with a final score of 41-35, according to NFL.com.

At the time of the simulation, the Falcons seem nearly impossible of taking home the Lombardi trophy, but recent events proved those assumptions wrong. If the Steelers managed to beat the New England Patriots last Sunday, the "Madden NFL 17" simulation would have accurately predicted the Super Bowl matchup five months before the real thing happened.

That was not the first time that a "Madden" simulation eerily predicted a win. The "Madden NFL 15" simulation predicted the Patriots' comeback when it defeated the Seattle Seahawks at Super Bowl XLIX with a 28-24 score, GameSpot reported.

Both the comeback and the final score of the match were predicted by the simulation. Tom Brady was largely responsible for their Super Bowl win at the time and was declared MVP for his efforts. Oddly enough, the "Madden NFL 15" simulation also foretold Brady being MVP, and Julian Edelman catching the victorious TD pass and the exact type of pass play that led to that.

There's good news for those looking to score a free copy of "Madden NFL 17" this week. Target is offering a free copy of the game if you purchase a new Xbox One S from the store, according to a separate report from GameSpot.

If you already have an Xbox One S and don't wish to buy another one, you can just purchase a copy of "Madden NFL 17" from Target for $35. The game's digital version, on the other hand, is priced $30 at the Xbox Store.

Another "Madden NFL 17" deal will get you a 50 percent discount. This one, which costs $50 from $99.99, is offered by Amazon for the "Madden NFL 17" Super Deluxe Edition for Xbox One.

The deal includes 15 Madden NFL Ultimate Team All-Pro Packs, the Ball-Carrier Feedback System, Pass & Rush Counters and Ways to Play, Madden Ultimate Team or Draft Champions. Take note that the "Madden NFL 17" Super Deluxe Edition is solely for the game's digital copy.
