"Ghost in the Shell" released its first official trailer last November, finally showing Scarlett Johansson in action as Major Motoko Kusanagi. Naturally, fans are wondering when the film's next sneak peek is coming out. Sources are claiming that it's sooner than you think.

The next major trailer for "Ghost in the Shell" is expected to come out this month, Trailer Track claimed. The sneak peek will reportedly serve as the lead-in for screenings of the Vin Diesel-starrer "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage," which bowed in theaters last week.

This report makes sense, given that production studios have a habit of showing movies preceded by trailers of their other films. "Ghost in the Shell" and "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" both come from Paramount Pictures, and they will probably use Diesel's movie to promote and build hype for Johansson's.

"Ghost in the Shell" isn't exactly a stranger when it comes to public attention, though what it has gotten so far tend to lean more towards the negative side. The anime adaptation was heavily criticized by the source material's die-hard fans for whitewashing the lead character.

The original 1995 "Ghost in the Shell" anime film will hit 110 U.S. theaters from Feb. 7 to 8. A collaboration between Lionsgate and Funimation Films, the movie screenings will show both the original Japanese version with subtitles and the other with English dub, Deadline reported.

A remastered version of the original "Ghost in the Shell" movie is also being prepared by Lionsgate. It will have a deluxe Blu-ray and DVD collector's edition.

Japan has joined the U.S. in celebrating the upcoming live-action "Ghost in the Shell" film, which will come out in the Asian country on April 7. Monthly Young Magazine is publishing a one-shot penned by "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" manga creator Yu Kinutani.

The one-shot titled "A Day in the Life" tells Saito's mercenary days, a time before his left eye and arm were replaced with cybernetic implants. The one-shot also features the sniper's mission where he first crossed paths with Motoko.

Funko, the American company which manufactures vinyl pop culture toys, has made figures for "Ghost in the Shell." The London Toy Fair unveiled figures for the Major, Batou and the Geisha. Check out the cute toys below. They will be available for purchase later this year.

You can watch the first "Ghost in the Shell" trailer below. The movie, directed by Rupert Sanders, will bow in theaters on March 31, 2017.
