The 2017 Apple iOS 11 update is one of the early Christmas presents that the giant tech company will give to the world come June. Much of the specs, release dates, and everything relating to it are borderline speculations. The iOS10 update rolled out last year was already smooth and perfect so what more can Apple bring to the table?

Something Better? Or The Usual BS?

Apple's WWDC is dawning and much speculation about the latest iOS update has been making headlines. After all, Apple remains to be the indisputable smartphone brand in the market and the company looks to either keep that up or outdo itself.

With the iOS 11 update, some new features are expected to break the bank. Apple will be rolling the new OS with its iPhone X, an unofficial name for the 10th anniversary iPhone it will launch this year. With a few months left, what could Apple deliver to outdo itself?

For starters the beta-stage voicemail on iCloud is going to really bridge the preferences of old people and young people. Young people prefer text over audio messages so voicemails will be transcribed in texts, whereas old people prefer to deliver messages orally, and so on, Know Your Mobile reported. Right now the feature doesn't work well, but it's expected to be one of the few features to receive an update.

Secondly there's the maps, which was already superb with the iOS 10 update. But Apple looks to beat Google with the drone technology and deliver street level data like road constructions to users. Moreover, reports have it that apple's been hiring robotics and data collection experts to improve indoor mapping.

Lastly, there's the Siri update. While users are looking forward for Siri to become best friends with that techie gal from Amazon, the only update it will receive is a natural-sounding voice. A team in Cambridge is reportedly in charge of the matter.

Release Date and New Features for which Apple Products

Apple will release the latest OS update's BETA this June, and the iOS 11 in September 2017, iOS 11 Updates reported. Moreover, it is expected that the following devices can run the new update: iPad Air 1 and 2, iPad Pro 12.9 inch and 9.7 inch, iPad mini 3 and 4, iPhone 5 c and 5s, iPhone 6 and above, and the sixth gen of iPod touch. The new devices such as iPhone X and iPad Pro 2 are also going to have the OS out of the box.
