There's no official word yet about a Season 8 renewal for CBS' "Hawaii Five-0." The odds, however, are looking good for the police procedural TV series.

This season's ratings for "Hawaii Five-0" have shifted towards the positive side. According to CarterMatt, the live + same-day ratings for Season 7 increased nearly eight percent Season 6 in the 18-49 audience demographic. In a bigger sense, the show amassed a total of more than 10 percent, with an average of 9.5 million viewers tuning in every week.

As for the demo, "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 is averaging approximately the same numbers that they got in Season 5. The current season is also the most-watched since Season 4.

"Hawaii Five-0's" good performance in the ratings game is attributed to several factors, and one of those reasons is Season 7's character-focused arcs. CarterMatt pointed out that the case-of-the-week plots are still there, but the recent episodes are also giving great focus on the characters' personal lives such as their motivations and romantic interests. With this, viewers feel closer to the characters and relate to them more.

Another possible reason why "Hawaii Five-0" is getting good ratings is its lead-in program, "MacGyver." The latter is also produced by Hawaii Five-0" showrunner Peter M. Lenkov. The ratings for "MacGyver" are doing good, too, and the show's action-packed theme and content complement "Hawaii Five-0" well.

The series' arrival on Netflix is also helping matters. Allowing "Hawaii Five-0" to be shown in multiple channels aside from its home network improved its viewership, getting more people become aware of the program.

Episode 15 of "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 will not air for a few weeks, though a synopsis for the episode has been released already. The episode will put the team "working a murder case involving the illegal practice of shark finning."

While embroiled in the case, they will suspect that a former Nazi war criminal is hiding in an old leprosy settlement in Hawaii, TV.com reported. Episode 15 will air on Friday, Feb. 3.

Episode 14 titled "Ka Laina Ma Ke One" showcased the Five-0 negotiating between the law and local customs after a man named Kahnua wanted for murder escaped the police and sought refuge in a land owned by the Nation of Hawaii. It turns out that Kahnua was framed for the murder and in the end, Chin (Daniel Dae Kim) arrested the real culprit.
