Who says old things can't be made brand new all over again? Capcom's 30th anniversary celebration is all about making "what once was" into a "what will be".

Just a few weeks ago, it was announced that a Nintendo Switch version of "Street Fighter 2" will soon be released, according to Nintendo's official website. Dubbed as "Ultimate Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers", this latest adaptation of the popular '90s arcade game aims for both long-time fans and new fans to connect with "Street Fighter" as people have done back then.

That being said, here are a few remarkable things "Street Fighter" series producer Yoshinori Omo producer, has said about the new game for the upcoming Nintendo Switch, based on a recent interview with IGN:

Going Back to the Roots

Ono mentioned that since the 3DS version of "Street Fighter" was released, there hasn't been any new version on any new console made yet. So, they've decided to trace it back to the original games - and most of all, on what people thought about it back in the day - and thought about incorporating the classic "Street Fighter 2" into the "what will be" version of the game on Nintendo Switch, instead of creating an entirely new one.

Rebalancing Between Classic and Modern

While most people prefer to play an entirely new game with a new concept, even when it's based from an already successful game franchise, it will be inevitably compared to the original one. Aside from that, long-time fans of a popular game, who sometimes have a larger people base than new fans, would still want to play it as they did back then. Thankfully, Ono has also mentioned that they'd like to retain what's in the original, while keeping it at par in today's gaming world.

Nintendo Switch is set to be released on March 3, 2017.
