Avid fans of NBC's "The Blacklist" are surely awaiting their favorite show's new spinoff. What's better is that the same characters will be seamlessly transitioning into the new show. Here's the details on what's next for Tom Keen in "The Blacklist: Redemption".

Welcome the spinoff "The Blacklist: Redemption"

According to NBC, "The Blacklist: Redemption" will show how the world's most elusive criminals from Red's notorious list will be joining forces to form an elite mercenary team. With this union, they aim to regain their self-worth after spending their lives wreaking havoc on the world.

This is where Blacklist undercover operative Tom Keen (played Ryan Eggold) enters and join the team's chief, Susan "Scottie" Hargrave (Famke Janssen). Lethal assassin and Tom's nemesis Matias Solomon (Edi Gathegi) is part of the team, as well. Here, they work toward enforcing good and correcting dangerous wrongs. Also included in the team are Nez Rowan (Tawny Cypress) and hacker Dumont (Adrian Martinez). Fans will see the team take on supposedly impossible missions, on the hopes of redeeming their desecrated souls.

"The Blacklist" spinoff: how seamless is the so-called transition?

Per Cinemablend, "The Blacklist" has already done a good job of paving the way for the spinoff and introducing Famke Janssen's character. There are no indications of how smooth the transition will be but as of late, fans may be relieved to know how the spinoff is in sync with the original series' schedule. The source also mentioned how this was a bold move, as strategies like this has not worked too well in the past.

"The Blacklist" spinoff production team

Writing and executive producing for Redemption are Jon Bokenkamp, John Eisendrath, and David Amann. Also joining as executive producers are John Fox and John Davis also. Co-executive producer John Terlesky wil direct. "The Blacklist: Redemption" was created by Bokenkamp, Eisendrath, Lukas Reiter and J.R. Orci.
