LG X230 recently received a certification from Bluetooth SIG, which means it can be rolled out in international markets. However, while certifications do not normally leak specs and features of the phone, this time the LG X230 seems to have low-end components. Is it worth the buck?

Earlier this week LG rolled out two entry-level phones released in South Korea and the US. These were X300and Aristo respectively. They're basically the same as reviews revealed except that X300 has 2GB RAM while Aristo only has 1.5GB RAM, Phone Arena reported.

Now, LG received a certification from Bluetooth Special Interest Group, giving it clearance to be marketed in the global market. While the certification of the device did not reveal its components and specs, a leak released this week reveals that the LG X230 series have low-end components, which are 1GB RAM, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and the chipset Mediatek MT6737M, GSM Arena reported. At a cheap price of $75 a piece, is it worth the buck?

While the phone will not break the smartphone market, it's expected to receive a warm welcome from consumers who can't afford the technology of smartphones what with the ludicrous market price tags on it. It has sleek design and it's affordable - these facts are enough to propel more smartphone companies to create budget friendly phones for the general public.

However, for the tech savvy, it is disappointing that the X230 will launch with Android 6.0 Marshmallow instead of the latest Nougat. If the company can launch cheap phones with Android Nougat, why can't it do the same for the X230 series? Moreover, if Marshmallow comes from the box, then users shouldn't expect any update soon.

Both the X300 and Aristo carried Android Nougat out of the box. Both of them have low components as well. But X300 has 2GB RAM and runs in a 14Ghz quad core Snapdragon processor.  Aristo on the other hand only has 1.5GB RAM running the same processor that X300 has.
