Ubisoft's popular video game title "The Division" is making a film adaptation. The movie production will be spearheaded by none other than Academy Award Winner Stephen Gaghan. The multi-talented directed is also taking charge of the writing credits. "The Division" movie adaptation cast will be headed by Jake Gyllenhaal with Jessica Chastain.

Gaghan told Variety he is very excited to work with Ubisoft Motion Pictures and collaborate with their Massive Entertainment team to bring "The Division" to the big screen. The award-winning director also praised the creativity and the bravery of Ubisoft to venture in a competitive field.

Amid the low-key criterion of video game adaptations in the box-office, "The Division" might actually break the stigma. Just last month, "Assasin's Creed" disappoints in many ways amid being a massive success in the gaming landscape. However, "The Division" is not disheartened. The film cast headed by Gyllenhaal and Chastain is a fresh take.

The Hollywood A-list actors will give life to "The Division's mid-apocalyptic Manhattan. This collaboration is a remarkable medium in telling Ubisoft's stories that are more relevant than ever. Gaghan added that the project is immersive, wonderfully strange yet familiar and filled with possibilities.

"The Division" is developed and published by Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment in cooperation with Red Storm Entertainment. The third person game is released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One formats. "The Division" storyline goes around New York City. On Black Friday, Manhattan has been under smallpox pandemic and people tries to survive through the harsh circumstance. The players act out as agents from Strategic Homeland Division who are called "The Division." They will be tasked to help and rebuild Division's operations in distraught Manhattan while investigating the causes of the natural outbreak while combating against criminals taking advantage of the circumstances.

Meanwhile, the IMBd listing states that Tom Clancy will share the writing responsibility with Gaghan. It also shows that "The Division" arrives in 2018.
