The revised trade policy of the United States where American companies are urged to transfer their production facilities in the U.S. is putting Foxconn under pressure. Aside from the new trade policy passed by Trump administration, the Chinese government is also persuading the company to remain in China. However, it seems as though the company has already decided to remain in China after revealing their plans on establishing a new facility.

Foxconn has committed to help Apple in creating prototypes for their futures products and so the facilities are being considered. There have been reports suggesting Foxconn will build facilities in the U.S. but the recent news about the new plan of Apple's partner is a proof that they will remain in China. The new facilities will mark the third facilities for Foxconn.

According to Nikkei Asian Review, Foxconn, together with its partner, Sharp will stay in China and are now considering to build a facility in Zhengzhou where they will manufacture the advanced organic light emitting diode panels. The company will also work with Softbank to create an ARM chip at a design center in Shenzen, China. The building is still on its first stage as the company still looking for a piece of land where they will put up the facilities.

The new facilities that will be built in China are also dedicated to help Apple in the creation of their products in the future and may suggest that the future iPhones will still be made in China. There have been reports suggesting that the future iPhones will be made in the U.S. but, according to MacRumors, iPhones will still be manufactured in China.

Though, Foxconn is not totally ditching the idea of transferring their manufacturing facility in the U.S to heed the trade policy as the company is planning to put up one plant in the U.S.
