Many iPhone 6s phone owners expressed their disappointment over Apple's battery replacement program. Apple may have replaced the battery or fixed the battery life issue but this also leads to loss of important data, including text messages in the user's devices.

What also irked iPhone 6s phone owners is the fact that Apple seem to pretend things are fine with other models. Apple is persistent that only a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shutdown, Forbes reported.

It can be recalled that iPhone users were suffering from unexpected battery problems of its iPhone devices last year. Problems of batteries unexpectedly turning off listed the most evident glitch even when there's still plenty of battery life remaining, BGR reported

Fixing the problem, Apple immediately introduced a limited battery replacement program for defective iPhone 6s free of charge. It also gave software updates to fix battery issues on other models, but based on reports, it seems like the software updates don't seem to have helped at this point.

In a statement, Apple disclosed that iPhone 6s handsets made in September and October 2015 contained a battery component that was exposed to controlled ambient air longer than it should have been before being assembled into battery packs. As a result, these batteries degrade faster than a normal battery and caused unexpected shutdowns, Tech Radar reported.

Phone owners of iPhone 6s who want to know if they are eligible to get a free battery replacement are advised to visit Apple's online verification page and input the phone's serial number. Recent reports have also claimed that an identical program is now being extended to iPhone 6 users as they also experienced similar battery problems, The Next Web has learned.

According to sources, it seems like Apple is finally acknowledging that more devices than previously thought may have been affected by faulty battery issue.
