Microsoft Cortana beta version was spotted on an Android smartphone's lock screen and soon it will be just a swipe away to access without ever unlocking the device.

Microsoft Cortana update will let users to access from the lock screen

As a complementary feature, Cortana is currently put on test on Android lock screen setup. According to MSpoweruser, the update does not only bring a facelift to the digital assistant but it will be accessible more easily.

The wider update rollout is expected to arrive sometime this month. In the beta program, Microsoft has included Cortana on lock screen by asking users if they want to add it to the lock screen. Once it is done, Cortana's floating logo will pop up at the bottom for users to swipe it.

Microsoft Cortana beta program is currently available for any Android mobile user who wants to try it out. It's been featured in Google Store for awhile, according to The Verge.

Microsoft brings a few changes to Cortana, including faster performance, quick reminders, calendar, and weather forecasts at the front page. This enhances the interaction on the lock screen like never before although it might not be a full replacement.

Microsoft is making Cortana more capable than before

Microsoft's voice service is on par with Amazon's Alexa, Google's Assistant and Apple's Siri although the update is considered slower. At the moment, Siri is the oldest among them but that does not mean that Google and Microsoft aren't catching up. Now that the Redmond giant climbs higher, the app may actually be more capable.
