It appears that the American television series "Star Trek: Discovery" would start filming as early as next week. There were also some indications that cast members of the TV series had been already on location in Toronto.

Nevertheless, the shooting for the "Star Trek: Discovery" has been delayed, the previously announced premiere date, which is May 2017, could also be pushed back. This isn't the first delay of the TV series has faced. It was initially scheduled for a launch this month, but was pushed back to May due to executive producer Bryan Fuller's creative concerns, Variety reported.

The internal troubles of "Star Trek: Discovery" appear to have continued. Fuller has since been demoted to an in-name-only role on the series, with producers Gretchen Berg, Aaron Harberts and Akiva Goldsman takes over.

Nonetheless, some "Star Trek: Discovery" cast members appear to already be in the location for shooting. Chris Obi (portraying a Klingon leader) has been tweeting out a series of playful videos where the actor jokes with his drivers about not knowing where he is off to work.

One cast member may also be playing a part in the "Star Trek: Discovery" delays that are occurring. Sonequa Martin-Green, who is said to be playing a lieutenant commander, may be tied up working in her current character Sasha Williams on "The Walking Dead," according to Entertainment Weekly.

Perhaps to take away from the sting of the TV series' potential delay, CBS issued a statement announcing a new cast member. For the first time in the new series, an actor will be portraying a role of an existing character in the Trek universe, a character who goes all the way back to the original 1960s series. James Frain will inhabit the role of Sarek, father of the legendary Star Trek character Spock, Star Trek reported.
