At the Mobile World Congress, LG is preparing to unveil its flagship smartphone for this year, the LG G6. However, that is not all they are not planning to announce as LG is hard at work at their LG Smartwatch. In fact, they could be releasing more than one variant if all goes according to plan.

According to Pocket-lint, an LG Smartwatch recently passed through the US Federal Communications Commission and pictures in the FCC documents show it to have round display and standalone LTE connection. Actual pictures of the Andorid Wear device are kept in wraps by the FCC but it is safe to assume what it will have based on what it looks like.

According to Trusted Reviews, three new smartwatches are on the way from LG and they are W280, W270 and W281. These three devices are expected to be released to the public soon since products that are passed through the FCC are the ones that are going to go on sale. It is possible the LG Smartwatch models are named after the carriers they are going to be available through like the V is for Verizon and A is for AT & T.

Back in December, LG applied for four smartwatch trademarks - Watch Pro, Watch Sole, Watch Style and Watch Force so this comes as no surprise. They certainly would not want to be left behind which is why they want to launch their LG Smartwatch as soon as possible.

This is most likely a reaction to the news that Google is preparing to launch the next version of its wearable OS, Android Wear 2.0, which is currently being tested by developers. Reports say that it is going to be launched somewhere late February which could be near or during the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona's yearly tech show. Those models would most likely be the main competitor of the new LG Smartwatch.
