Sega brings "Sonic Mania" to Nintendo Switch, but with a touch of the nostalgic Genesis "Sonic the Hedgehog" game feel. That's why Sega Genesis fans will no doubt love the new "Sonic Mania" Collector's Edition for Switch. Moreover, Sonic carries a new ability to defeat Dr. Eggman.

Sonic Mania Features

The new "Sonic Mania" Collector's Edition features a collector's box, a metal collector's card, Sega Genesis replica cartridge that has a golden ring inset, and a 12-inch Sonic standing on Sega Genesis model that plays the Sega startup audio, Crunchy Roll reported. Besides Nintendo Switch, the collector's edition is available for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in Spring 2017.

The new game, which will be available at a price of $69.99, will feature 60 FPS and pixel-perfect physics, Shack News reported. Gamers can choose to play among their favorite Sonic franchise characters including Knuckles, Tails, and of course, Sonic. Each of these characters has their own unique moves that they can use to fight Dr. Eggman. Knuckles, in this new game, will have the ability to climb, Tails can fly, and Sonic can do a new drop dash. All these abilities are required for the player to discover hidden paths and in-game secrets.

Nintendo Switch

Sonic Mania will be available for the new Nintendo Switch, which will be released on March 3 at a price tag of $300. The new console will have fewer games compared to the present Wii and Wii U. Besides "Sonic Mania," two of Switch's biggest titles are "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition" and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."

"Sonic Mania" is one of the notable retro-releases in Nintendo Switch, with graphics that came fresh from fans' nostalgic memories. "Sonic Mania" will have two playable levels including the classic Green Hill and an incredible movie themed level that comes with popcorn and director chairs for Dr. Eggman. The new game is developed by Sega, PagodaWest Games, Headcannon, and Christian Whitehead.
