iMac 2017 and what's under the hood

The much-anticipated Kaby Lake processor has finally been revealed by Intel at CES 2017 earlier this month. This has created speculations about the gadgets that will be rocking the 7^th generation core, including the iMac 2017.

In addition to the latest Intel's processor, iMac 2017 desktop will reportedly use Radeon Polaris 10 graphics card from AMD. Other features expected to come with the iMac is the VR compatibility feature with 5K display. However, the upgrade might be seen in the 27-inch iMac instead of the 21.5-inch variant according to PC Advisor.

There is no word on the pricing but it is safe to assume that with 32 GB RAM and 2TB Fusion Drive on board will cost around $3,200.

Expect a great desktop from Apple

Tim Cook seems to understand how tech crowds are worried about the future of Apple's desktop lineup. The CEO said in a post, that great desktop is in the company's roadmap, simply because it is critical to some people, Mashable reported.  

Cook stressed that all of the developments are done not because of the ROI but because it's 'interesting and it might lead somewhere'. This might mean that Apple will indeed be releasing great desktop variants that will excite the superfans and be different from the rest.

iMac 2017 release date

Aside from the claims about three variants of iPad Pro 2, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also made a statement that the iMac refresh will be happening in first half of 2017. MacWorld has noted that reports point towards a March release date.
