September was the month to remember for Samsung as they announced a global recall of the then newly launched Galaxy Note 7 due to reported battery explosions. Now that the company is heading towards releasing another flagship smartphone for 2017, the company is yet to publish the result of investigation to give light on the issue as well as to clear their name. See full details here!

What Went Wrong with Galaxy Note 7?

Several reasons have been popping out from the reported explosion of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 that resulted to its untimely demised. The debacle has ended up with third party suppliers owning up the blame when in fact, the only reason is down to faulty battery.

So how does this faulty battery resulted to explosion? A popular hypothesis suggests that Samsung has been aggressive on Galaxy Note 7 design that it ended up squeezing the large battery making it fit to space that cannot accommodate its size, according to Forbes.

In a technical point of view, the battery of Galaxy Note 7 is made up of lithium cobalt oxide, negative layer made of graphite and two electrolyte-soaked separator layer made of polymer. An explosion has transpired because the positive and negative layers have touched thus, having energy flowing directly into the electrolyte that heats up due to the volume of flowing energy.

On the other hand, the separator has also said to be thin thus, ended up broken when compressed due to manufacturing parameters. Besides, the pressure from the daily use of the phone is also said to have been added to the problem.

Report Will Be Published Ahead of Galaxy S8 Release Date

As Samsung is closer to the release of their 2017 flagship smartphone the Galaxy S8, the report on Galaxy Note 7 investigation will be closely monitored to ensure that the new handset will not follow the same path of its predecessor. According to Digital Trends, Samsung is set to publish the report in January 23, a month before the presumed launching date of Galaxy S8 in the MWC event at Barcelona Spain.
