There have been reports circulating that the new iPhone 8 will have OLED display, bezeless screen, a steel frame, and bigger size. Now, leaks reveal that the new phone will have enhanced waterproof and dust proof capabilities.

Multiple source claim that both iPhone 7S and the new iPhone models will be released this year and will have upgraded IP68, which means better water and dust resistance capabilities, Forbes reported. This means that the new models can be submerged in water to as much as 1.5 meters deep and up to 30 minutes long.
This is a big improvement from iPhone 7 iPhone 7 Plus's IP67 rating, which can only be submerged to only 1 meter of water for about the same time with the newer models. The current model doesn't have headphone jack to allow the water resistance feature as well as free more space for bigger battery. However, the current iPhone 7 models have battery sizes that are just a little bit bigger than what is in the iPhone 6, as well as the battery size of the Samsung Galaxy S7, which already has the IP68 rating even with the headphone jack present.
Release Date
The latest leaks reveal that the iPhone 8 is most likely going to be released early September 2017, Tech Radar reported. According to reports, it will go on sale on mid-September 2017. This is actually a probable speculation since Apple usually release on the same schedule every year.
All iPhones since the iPhone 5 in 2012 have been released in September, except for the iPhone SE. Another example is how iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S were both given a launch even on September 9, while iPhone 7 was given a launch event on September 7. Apple usually puts its products up for sale one or two weeks after officially announcing it, and most speculations show that the tech company may officially introduce its new handsets during the first or second week of September this year.
