"X-Men's" popularity has never ceased to wane as two upcoming series have blossomed again giving life to other mutants featured in the "X-Men" film. According to reports, the TV show will feature Legion who first appeared in a 1985 issue of "The New Mutants."

Legion will be portrayed by "Fargo" showrunner Noah Hawley, Game Spot reported. The story will revolve around a man named David Haller, who is diagnosed as schizophrenic but begins to believe that the voices he hears may be real.

Hawley stressed that "X-Men" fans will see a different superhero stories with "X-Men Legion." He claimed that there will be a surreal or dreamlike quality where it is not just about running and kicking.

Fans will be in for something whimsical, imaginative, and unexpected, Hawley emphasized. "X-Men: Legion" will be aired on Feb. 8, 10 P.M at FX, while the other untitled "X-Men" series is set to be aired on Fox any time now. The latter will connect directly to the X-Men movie universe, which will not disorient fans especially if they are fond of the movies and comics.

It is worth noting that "X-Men Legion" is the result of a successful partnership between Marvel and Fox. This is first time Marvel has been directly involved with the live-action X-Men franchise. It can be recalled that during the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, Fox Television Group chairman and CEO Dana Walden revealed that the network is pursuing a deal with Marvel to make an "X-Men" TV series.

Now that the series is finally in the loom, it is reported that it will be a long-running series as opposed to a limited run, Cinema Blend reported. Fox however can only use characters that they have the film rights to, the same will apply to this TV show, while Marvel will retain the TV rights to the properties.
