The American television serial drama "Prison Break," which captured the hearts of many is coming back in Spring bringing the good news to fans with new nine episodes to air. For eight years, fans are left in the dark of what's to come next on the series after it aired its fourth season wayback in 2009.

Finally, unanswered questions are now addressed with the series' reboot, however, it appears that Fox is keeping it as a one-off event series revival, Digital Spy reported. According to serial creator Paul Scheuring, the continuity of the reboot depends upon how it is going to be received by the viewers and who's available before another bite of the apple will be made.

It is reported that main actors of the tv series are apparently busy and have not signed contracts to keep them around any time soon. Most of them are involved in other projects that a season six might be a little bleak as of the moment.

Although Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell are both regulars on popular DC shows "The Flash" both have already committed to the "Prison Break" reboot and they will be joined by series favorite Sarah Wayne Callies, who also leads in the USA Network sci-fi "Colony" and reprised her role as Sara Tancredi in the upcoming revival, Cinema Blend reported.

Reports cited that the revival will pick up years after fans last saw "Prison Break" characters. Sara Tancredi will be moving on with her life and raising her baby with Michael Scofield, portrayed by Miller. After learning new information that Michael might be alive, Sara sets out on a mission to rescue and discover the truth about Michael with Lincoln Burrows, portrayed by Purcell.

Sources added that "Prison Break" revival is FOX's way of granting the clamor of fans to bring back the tv serial drama. This is not the first time the network revives classic series. In fact, for the last two decades it revived "The X-Files," and fans are seeing the same will happen with another well-loved tv series "24" any time soon.
