The Android Nougat update is finally launching across the Android universe. Wherein, some Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones have already received the official update from Samsung, but HTC surprisingly has stopped the Android Nougat update for its HTC 10 smartphone.

The official Samsung Galaxy S7 update has been up for grabs in the U.S. with other regions expected to receive the update next week. People who participated in the Galaxy S7 Android Nougat Beta program will receive the updates first, and then it will roll out to all the Galaxy S7 smartphones.

The size of the Android Nougat update is around 215 MB, which makes it a heavy update. The Android Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 Edge drops in two versions, G935FXXU1DPLT and G935FOXA1DPLT, most likely assigned for the Exynos and Qualcomm processor versions of the handset, according to Sam Mobile.

The Android Nougat changelog for the Galaxy S7 shows the improved notifications, multi-window feature, new TouchWiz UX, and the Quick settings button. The Always On display of Samsung will also be enhanced by the Android Nougat update, providing a longer standby time. In case tech fans are using the Gear Icon X, it's advisable to update the wireless headphones first before updating their Galaxy S7 smartphone.

On the other hand, HTC 10 owners will be dismayed as the Android Nougat update rollout for the gadget has been delayed. The mobile phone network company initially offered the update for the device in November. Nevertheless, bugs spoiled the initial version. HTC is expected to fix the bugs and come out with an improved version of the Android Nougat update soon, The Android Soul reported.

In spite of that, it is important to remember that there is no official word yet coming from the Taiwanese tech giant confirming the Android Nougat update suspension. HTC 10 users should be consoled by the idea that the company has now more time on its hands to develop a fix.
