Dispelling speculations from a previous report, that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will not be launched with the official release of the Nintendo Switch on Mar. 3, 2017, the open world game is now officially confirmed to be released alongside the Switch. Previous reports cite that localization issues might delay the release of the game; however, it is now evident that the issue no longer exists, according to The Verge. Nintendo also announced that the availability of the Nintendo Switch and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" via a global live stream from Tokyo last Jan. 13, 2017. Additionally, a Tweet from Nintendo of America announced that the game would also be available for the Nintendo Wii U on March 3. Likewise, an initial list of available games was shown the event, seen below.

The Nintendo Switch version of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," though comparable to the Wii U, will exploit the hybrid console's advanced capabilities. The game will be a departure from its previous versions with its open world design. It also deviates with crafting and other survival features, according to Polygon.

There will be three editions of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild": standard, special, and master edition. The Special Edition pack will come with the physical copy of the game, a carrying case, a Sheikah Eye collectible coin, "Relic of Hyrule: Calamity Ganon" tapestry with a map on its other side, and the game's 24-track soundtrack CD, retailing for $99.99. The Master Edition pack will include all items in the special edition pack with the addition of a special Master Sword figure and will cost $129.99.

Reggie Fils-Aime, the president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America said both packages would likely be hard to find, especially the Master Edition that will be produced in extremely limited quantity. He adds that, "once it's gone, it's gone."
