A rare question and answer within Apple's internal employee network made the company's CEO Tim Cook expound the importance of the iMac series and its future. Since 2015, a new version of the iMac is one that its cult followers are really looking forward to. That's why the CEO's response on a query about iMac's importance raises hope as it gave away the company's plans about what they have for its future.

The oldest product line of Apple has not received any update since 2015 when it launched its Retina screen, which remains by far and arguably, the most superior desktop in the world. Cook definitely agrees with this. In the Q&A session, the CEO affirms that the desktop remains very strategic for the company, all the while putting emphasis on how critical it is for most people, Mac World UK reported.

Although he didn't elaborate who the "most people" are, Cook did enumerate why the desktop is still important. He said it packs more performance, it has the largest screens, and it has the most storage and memory. Moreover he said the desktops, referring to Apple's iMac series, have greater variety of I/O and has the fastest performance.

Cook elaborates that the company's retina display is the best display in the world right now. Finally he said that people from the media have doubted whether the company will continue producing more iMacs to the world. Cook assures the world that great desktops are coming.

iMac Hybrid and March 2017 Release Date

When Intel announced that the new iMac will house Kaby Lake processors, the world speculated that it will be released in 21 October. And who's to blame? There were slip-ups that mentioned iMac family housing Kaby Lake is listed for sale on that date.

But it never came. So the earliest date for a new iMac to be released is on March 2017. Moreover, it's already expected that S-Series desktops chips will be seen. Best Buy, the company that managed the slip up said the new 27-inch iMac is priced at $3,199.99, which is slightly available than the iMacs in the market right now, PC Advisor UK reported.  

Nevertheless, it remains to be the most anticipated for this new year.
