After months of anticipations, Nintendo finally pitched in the price, specs and release date of its upcoming gaming console, Nintendo Switch. The gaming system will be launched worldwide on March 3, and it will be up for grabs in the U.S. for $300.

The Nintendo Switch console will launch alongside a collection of mini-games dubbed as 1-2 Switch, which will boast some of the unique features of the Nintendo Switch controller. The Nintendo Switch will also not have any region locking software, which means gamers can play video games from any region regardless of where they purchase the gaming console. The Nintendo Switch price tag puts it right under its two main rivals, the PS4 and Xbox One.

Nintendo's latest gaming console is a pretty unique device because it is part console, tablet and a portable tabletop gaming system. The Nintendo Switch is perhaps the most novel piece of device to come from Nintendo in years. The hardware can be used both as a home gaming system and a portable gaming device, according to CNET.

Despite the console's size, the Nintendo Switch is no pushover in the visuals department. The gaming system can provide twice the graphical processing power while it is placed in its dock, which means there is a good reason for game enthusiasts to play the device on their TVs at home. The portable screen of the console is capable of displaying 720p resolution, whereas the resolution can go up to 1080p when docked, according to The Verge.

Nintendo claims that the Nintendo Switch runs off a custom Nvidia Tegra processor and comes along with a 32GB of on-board memory. However, the Nintendo Switch storage can be expanded through microSD cards. Games for the Nintendo's upcoming console will come on physical GameCards.

Some of the video games that have been officially announced for the upcoming console include "Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers" and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."
