It is not easy to leave high school friends behind and develop a new social circle in a new place and in a new school but this should not be taken as something you should be scared of. It could be challenging at first, but it can also be exciting.

Here are some helpful ways to make it easier to for you to make new friends in college.

Join campus clubs and societies

Your college or university certainly has a lot of clubs and societies for you to join and getting involved in these groups can be one of the most enriching experiences you can have in college, according to Education Corner. These are an excellent venue for you to be able to connect with people who share the same interests and passion.

On campus jobs

Work study programs do not only help students when it comes to earning extra for college funding; they are also a great way to expand your social circle in college. The friendships you establish with your customers can last a lifetime, and that is not impossible to happen.

Attend as much events as you can

Before the classes usually start, there are various events being held in the campuses to welcome freshmen students and this is something you should also take advantage of, according to Succeed Socially. There are a lot of other freshmen students who are also looking forward to meeting new friends so this is going to be a great chance for you to meet them.

Join study groups

You may or you may not have all the time to chat with your classmates during class time and joining study groups are a perfect venue for you to get to know more and bond with your classmates. Not only will you be able to help each other out when it comes to assignments and exam, you may also be able to establish a lasting friendship.
