The sci-fi series "X-Files" has been widely accepted since it was first aired in 1993 up until its short return last year. The cliffhanging conclusion of the tenth season with only six episodes made fans crave for more of the "X-Files," and now are hoping for the return of the revival series.

 Since 1993, the "X-Files" has been a big hit for Fox network but due to the busy schedules of the main stars; David Duchovny (Fox Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully), the series couldn't move on further. However, according to Digital Trends, Fox has high hopes that they can deliver more to the fans. This goes to show that fans can expect the return of "X-Files" soon.

The speculations seems to have been confirmed after David Madden, Fox president claimed that the next season will apparently be more than 6 but not 22 - the number of episodes of the original series. In addition, he said that the ideal is to have it ready before 2018, CNET reported.

"X-Files" exec has made it clear that they just have to work around the busy schedules of the main stars and the network is planning to make an announcement. An announcement that is believed to be about the plans for the "X-Files" was expected to be made during the TCA event. However, the deals weren't done on time but the entertainment company still remain positive that they will be able to make the necessary deals.

The "X-Files" series is not a usual sci-fi series and that is what people love about it and that is why despite the urge to see what will happen next, they just keep their fingers crossed while waiting for the next season. It may take a while, but knowing Fox, they will return the show with the freshest and original material to show the awaiting fans that there is more life to the "X-Files."
