When "Bates Motel" returns for its fifth and final season next month, viewers will see Norman (Freddie Highmore) falling deeper into madness as everyone continues to be unaware of his mother Norma's (Vera Farmiga) death.

"Bates Motel" Season 5 picks up two years after Norma's death, Deadline reported. Norman is now a grown man and though he appears normal and well-adjusted at White Pine Bay, he continues to have "violent blackouts" at home, where he leads a double life. "Mother" is adamant on taking over Norman completely.

A recently released trailer for "Bates Motel" Season 5 promises creepy storytelling. The sneak peek revealed that Norman is still keeping his mother's icy corpse in a locked and secluded room in the house.

Season 4 of "Bates Motel" ended with Norman killing his mother, but Farmiga will continue to be a constant presence all throughout Season 5. "Bates Motel" Season 5 will also showcase Dylan (Max Thieriot) and Emma (Olivia Cooke) living their seemingly perfect lives, only to get sucked into Norman's insanity again.

Romero (Nestor Carbonell), meanwhile, vows to put an end to his stepson and avenge his true love Norma's death. Romero is currently imprisoned for perjury, according to SlashFilm.

"Bates Motel" Season 5 will feature guest stars Rihanna and "The Walking Dead" alum Austin Nichols in key, supporting roles. Rihanna portrays Marion Crane, who was played by Janet Leigh in Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 slasher film "Psycho."

Nichols, meanwhile, will portray the "mysterious and charismatic" White Pine Bay newcomer Sam Loomis. He will quickly become at odds with Norman when he attempts to involve him in his twisted lies.

Other guest stars include "House of Cards" actress Isabelle McNally as Sam's wife, Madeleine Loomis, and Brooke Smith as Sheriff Dana Greene. Kenny Johnson and Ryan Hurst are reprising their roles as Caleb Calhoun and Chick Hogan, respectively, ScreenCrush listed.

"Bates Motel" executive producer Carlton Cuse revealed last year that there was never any intention for the show to go beyond five seasons. Cuse told Dread Central that he, along with co-executive producer Kerry Ehrin, don't have plans to re-create the ending of "Psycho," adding that there wasn't "desire or obligation to exactly align our storytelling with what goes on in the movie."
