There are many consoles coming this year but nothing still beats the classic handheld game console Nintendo Game Boy. The classic handheld console has long been laid to rest, but that will not be the case because Retro Bit created a prototype that looks and performs like the Game Boy.

The Super Retro Boy is created to copy the likeness of the Game Boy classic although it's smaller in size and sports a larger screen for better gaming experience. Players can play comfortably as the buttons are properly spaced.

According to Digital Trends, the Retro Boy has 10-hour battery life that is rechargeable using a micro-USB. This isn't exactly the Nintendo Game Boy, but it can support the game cartridges of the old school consoles Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance.

The Super Retro Boy came out as an idea because of the video game licensing issues like the expiration. That when the video game license expires, the game will no longer be used, whereas the video game cartridges can last a lifetime.

The difference between Super Retro Boy and Nintendo Game Boy

While the Super Retro Boy is almost similar to the Game Boy and though the HD screen looks a bit sharper with a great battery life, they say nothing beats the original. Reports say that the Retro Boy's keypad is a bit squishy that it might get stuck after a few months of heavy use although the handheld console is rocking a solid body. It does not support internet connection and no TV out, Engadget reported.

Meanwhile, the classic 8-bit handheld video game console with interchangeable cartridges, the Game Boy was successfully launched due to its impressive hardware and great battery life. Unlike the Retro Boy, the Game Boy contains input/ output connectors that allows users to link to another Game Boy system.

So, those who still own a classic Game Boy console, it's time to get the dust off and begin using the cartridge video games.
