Canon is bringing in a new addition to its premium line of compact point-and-shoot cameras with its latest Powershot G9X Mark II. The camera is packed with amazing features, but most reviews point out that it only has minor upgrades compared to the first version of the camera.

Features of the Crossover Camera

The Canon Powershot G9X Mark II has a 1-inch 20.2-megapixel CMOS sensor, Engadget reported. Its major update from its predecessor is only its Digic 7 image processor. It also has the 3x optical zoom lens, as well as a 3-inch LCD.

The camera comes with NFC to control it remotely and WiFi connectivity. Fans expect the new camera to perform better in low light with less noise and higher leels of ISO, but it can only shoot on 8.2 frames per second, The Verge reported. The Canon Powershot G9 X Mark II will be out in the market by February with a price rate of $530.

At this price range, it is quite lagging behind the rest of the cameras in the competition, making it just a crossover camera. This is especially because it doesn't have a 4K video capture. This camera is simply for those who need a device to point-and-shoot with. This is also for the 21st century photographers who need connectivity and a larger sensor to look in easier.

Upate Review

The new Canon Powershot G9X Mark II made the Touchscreen control easier to use with an updated interface. Its WiFi and Bluetooth connections make online sharing and third-party sharing easier. This is a good camera for those who are not very particular with the controls and the mod cons, and simply want to share online or to others the images they capture.

However, for those who are looking for a more serious camera, Canon offers other options that are still in the same price range as this camera. One obvious example would be the G7 X II.
