"Daredevil" Season 3 may see the return of Kingpin played by Vincent D'Onofrio as fans, actors and authors agree that Matt Murdock could use a real nemesis like Kingpin in future episodes. Moreover, Kingpin's role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could potentially see the villain in "Jessica Jones" or "Iron Fist" in Marvel-Netflix.

"Daredevil" Season 2 ended with new allies and villains to make Matt Murdock's world interesting, but no villain other than Kingpin as played by D'Onofrio has proven to be a standout and reportedly a scene stealer. Hence, fans are anticipating that D'Onofrio's Kingpin will feature prominently in "Daredevil" Season 3.

"Daredevil" Season 3 on Kingpin

D'Onofrio in an interview with Collider has expressed his desire to work with Marvel particularly as Kingpin, a character that also got the nod of "Daredevil" star Charlie Cox. The actor also said that his character will return to "Daredevil" Season 3 although the details and scheduling are still unknown.

Co-showrunner Doug Petrie revealed that the "canon and authors" have the source material to fully explore a Kingpin-Matt Murdock storyline. However, Petrie and his team have not yet decided on which story arc to take for "Daredevil" Season 3, Den of Geek has learned.

"Daredevil" Season 3 and Other Marvel-Netflix Shows

In the previous season, D'Onofrio's Kingpin was kept under wraps, prompting fans to speculate that the same could be done for "Daredevil" Season 3. There may even be the possibility that Kingpin will also be featured in other Marvel-Netflix shows like "Jessica Jones" and "Iron Fist.

Kingpin's inclusion in other Marvel-Netflic shows is already ruled out since "Luke Cage" is currently showing while "The Defenders," the show that brings all the Marvel superheroes together, has already begun productions.

"Daredevil" Season 3 Release

"Daredevil" Season 3 may have a 2018 debut since Marvel-Netflix follows a six months schedule for every show. "The Defenders" will premiere at the end of the year, which pushes back "Daredevil" to a 2018 airing.
