After almost six years of waiting, fans are waiting still for the release of "The Winds of Winter" book that might be released anytime soon. The book is a highly anticipated sixth installment of the "Song of Ice and Fire" book series.

Now that it is coming to the shelves, author George R.R. Martin teased a little about the book during an interview at Guadalajara International Book Fair. He revealed that the upcoming book will not have a happy ending at all and confirmed that there are indeed a lot of dark chapters in it, EW has learned.

Martin stressed that the book is not a happy feel-good book that everybody is maybe hoping for, pointing out that with the title itself one can speculate that in winter things are not always nice. He added that winter is always the time when things die and darkness fill the world.

Like any story, Martin said that the book follows the classic structure of things getting worse before they get better. So fans now could expect that things are getting worse for a lot of people in the book. Sources added that he also addressed the eventual conclusion of his saga, which is currently slated for the seventh book, "A Dream of Spring."

As of press time, he is not obviously telling how the seventh book will end, however, hinted that it will be much a bittersweet ending as it is happy. It can be recalled that the book has been shrouded with issues mostly about speculations of its delay.

Fans desperation about the book's release date has escalated rumors that Martin may have lost the original muscript, there's a major revamp on the book's storyline, and worse it may have actually been cancelled. Though they may be rooting to get a hold of the book, Martin appeased fans for the moment by giving a glimpse of TWoW book excerpt on his official website  that they may somehow be reminded that the book is underway.
