Last year was the year that Samsung would like to forget and has decided to start 2017 off with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy A3 and the Samsung Galaxy A5. For the first time in a Samsung Galaxy A3 vs A5 2017 comparison, pundits looked at how resilient the two smartphones are when it comes to dust and water resistance, according to Mirror. They both have an IP68 rating, which means that both can be submerged in 1.5 meters of water for a maximum of 30 minutes.

Selfies-wise, the Galaxy A5 contains a stunning 16 MP front facing camera compared to the 8 MP front camera of the Galaxy A5. Samsung also added an option that makes it easier for people who love taking selfies with one hand. They can tap anywhere on the screen to capture their selfies and if they are shooting in low-light conditions, they can use the display as a front-facing flash.

In terms of the battery, the Galaxy A5 has a 3000mAh while the A3 has a 2350mAh, according to Wired. The A5 also comes with Samsung's Fast Charging technology built in. It was proven to lift the battery life of the smartphone up to 50 percent in under 30 minutes. They have different processors too as the Galaxy A5 runs on a 1.9GHz octa core processor while the A3 runs on 1.6GHz.
