Microsoft's Windows-based Surface Pro line will once again have a special spot in the market, as Microsoft is reportedly planning to release the Surface Pro 5 in the first quarter of 2017. The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is said to launch with killer features.

A number of manufacturing partners have hinted that the Surface Pro 5 rolls out in March 2017, and the Surface Pro 5 2-in-1 device will come along with a magnetic charging stylus and a 4K Ultra HD display. The Surface Pro 5 is expected to be packed with an Intel Kaby Lake processor. In terms of storage, rumor has it that Surface Pro 5 will have a 512GB+ SSD, as well as a USB Type C and Thunderbolt 3 support, according to DigiTimes.

The Surface Pro 5 2-in-1 device is said to have a 16GB of RAM. The base model of the device could have a starting price of $899, while the top-tier variant Surface Pro 5 could cost as much as $1,599.

The production of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will apparently be handled by the Taiwanese electronics manufacturing company, Pegatron Technology. There are speculations that Quanta Computer might also be brought on board to provide assistance with the process. Nonetheless, Pegatron Technology is the same firm that Microsoft has outsourced the manufacturing of the Surface Studio and the older Surface Pros.

The Redmond, Washington based tech giant is also reportedly planning a new Surface Pen to support the upcoming Surface Pro 5 that will utilize a magnetic charging, and the feature will also be the first of the company's Surface Pro line, Economic Times reported.

Nevertheless, as Microsoft still not confirmed anything regarding the upcoming 2-in-1 device and there are still around three months for the Surface Pro 5 launch, things may change in the meantime. Thus, there may be changes in certain aspects of the upcoming Surface Pro 5 when it eventually rolls out.
