Ben Affleck was said to be slated to helm, write, and star the upcoming stand-alone motion picture, "The Batman." Nonetheless, in a recent interview, the famous actor/filmmaker mentioned that the film isn't a done deal, and that there's a chance that Affleck won't be behind the camera in the next DC project.

While Affleck was speaking to The Guardian, the actor gave an update on the forthcoming "The Batman" film, confirming that while the plan is for the actor to helm the stand-alone movie, Affleck is not locked into the project just yet. Affleck stated that's the idea, but it's not a set thing and the "The Batman" movie has no script. If the script doesn't come together in a way Affleck think is really great, the actor is not going to do it.

In the previous interviews of Affleck, the actor has stressed the fact that the script for the stand-alone movie is currently a work in progress, and Affleck doesn't want to rush it and end up creating a mediocre movie. While Affleck was in the Facebook Live discussion with New York Times writer Chip McGrath, Affleck stated that he's a real believer in not reverse engineering projects to meet a deadline, but rather the actor wants to get the right idea or get the right thing.

The actor also said that he intends on spending a lot of time on the "The Batman" stand-alone film. Nonetheless, Affleck appears to be keen on putting his own stamp on a film about the Dark Knight. The actor said that there's nothing he'd love more than to helm a standalone movie, just like the iconic, great "Batman" film.

That being said, "The Batman" stand-alone film still has no official release date. However, as Warner Bros. is prioritizing the film, it caused a push-back for the "Justice League" sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
