The Nintendo Switch gaming system is confirmed to have a non-removable battery. With this, it means that the Nintendo Switch owners will not be able to upgrade or replace the battery.

The non-removable battery was confirmed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), as the independent agency was reviewing a production prototype for the gaming console. The FCC took note of the review and stated that the battery of the Nintendo Switch is built-in in the EUT, thus restricting the Switch owner from removing the battery, according to Game Rant.

Nonetheless, while the Nintendo Switch submitted to the FCC is just a prototype, the filing for the console notes that it is still the version to be mass produced. With the console just looming on the horizon, it seems implausible that Nintendo will make sudden modification to the console and switch it to one that sports a removable battery.

In spite of that, the Nintendo Switch gaming console is still the hottest item in every gamer's bucket list, even with the tech company's persistent silence about their upcoming console-handheld hybrid. In fact, Nintendo dominated the internet in 2016, outdoing the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in terms of internet user interest, Express reported.

Apparently, the Nintendo internet searches were more than that of the PS4 and Xbox One combined. SimilarWeb, a digital market intelligence company, noted that the traffic of Nintendo grew by a factor of 60.

That being the case, Nintendo has not released any information regarding the specifics of the Nintendo Switch battery. The early speculation about the gaming system claimed that the battery life of the console is close to three hours. All of the rumors, speculations and reports will be cleared out once the Nintendo Switch event will transpire on Jan. 13, 2017.
