New footage for "Dragon Quest 11: In Search of Departed Time" dropped on Youtube showcasing new locations, battles, and exciting dragon-riding mode. Meanwhile, Nintendo recently confirmed that "Dragon Quest 11" is available for its Switch in 2017.

Dragon Quest 11 New Footage

The new footage shows a new and rich environment, as well as the game's dynamic battle system. However, the show stealer of the entire video is the incredible dragon-riding mode. The main protagonist is seen riding a blue dragon in a brief moment in the two-minute video of the new "Dragon Quest 11," Polygon reported.

"Dragon Quest 10" may have flying mounts, but the franchise is basically about fighting dragons. This time, characters of this MMO-style game for Wii can finally ride the mythical creatures. The bright blue dragon is somehow not big enough to carry the rider, and this makes the image feel comical.

The video also shows some behind-the-scene footage of the game for both its PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS version. There are no confirmations yet on whether the MMO will be released in the US, but the single player version is more likely to be released beyond Japan.

Nintendo Confirms Dragon Quest 11 Available for Switch

Meanwhile, Nintendo recently confirmed that "Dragon Quest 11" will be available for its Switch sometime in 2017, Game Rant reported. This news, however, is only for Japan release. There are no official reports on when the game's western version will roll out.

The last time the game had a western release was in 2009 for "Dragon Quest 9." For now, fans of the game in the United States will just have to wait for further news, and make do with the Minecraft version of the game called "Dragon Quest Builders." This game may not have the same gameplay as the "Dragon Quest" franchise, but it provides an extensive introduction to one of the best JRPGs of all time.
