Stay Connected With Us F T R

Dec 30, 2016 10:51 AM EST

As the year ends, a lot of us think about finances, personal goals, self-improvement, but we seldom consider our digital life. This is often overlooked as most of us have our lives revolve in the digital world. Thus, it makes sense that we also assess and evaluate our digital life and see what we can improve or parse within this area. Here is a checklist of what to do to become more efficient and secure ourselves digitally speaking.

Delete All Spam and Notifications

Just like we have to say goodbye to the old year, so should we say goodbye to those pesky spam and email notifications. You don't really need all the notifications you have from all the social media accounts you have as well as those from the newsletters and replies to forums you don't really need.

Gather All the Receipts/Invoices

There is an app you can use to scan, keep, and keep track all the receipts and invoices you've accumulated within the whole year. No matter what the amount is, keep them especially if you have a business. You can use them for tax filing and tax audit defense. More so, collecting and keeping track of all your invoices also helps you keep track of your expenses and budget.

Remove All Unnecessary Apps

Free your disk space by removing all the apps you do not need. Not only will it make your phone or your laptop look clutter-free but removing those useless app will also improve your device's performance. Determine which apps you don't need but before doing that, make sure that you have no important data that will be included in the deletion process. You can use your online cloud storage, like Dropbox, as a back-up.

Back Up Every Important File

As mentioned, back up all the important and necessary files and data you have in your laptop just in case your phone and laptop cease to cooperate. Smashing Magazine suggests creating a Restore Kit that holds all your important files, settings, and license codes.
