The multiplayer online RPG "World of Warcraft" was included in the list of technological innovations that will be featured in the Make Software: Change the World exhibit in Computer History Museum on Jan. 28, 2017. This exhibit aims to explore the origins and global impact of seven game-changing applications on which have created a huge impact on a person's daily life.

Blizzard Entertainment's Wow is the only video game featured on the Make Software: Change the World exhibit list. Wherein, the "World of Warcraft" is the ancestor of all the multiplayer online role-playing games that was created by Blizzard Entertainment, and the game was released in 2004, Gamasutra reported.

Each massively multiplayer online role-playing game released after the "World of Warcraft" consequently inherited some of its game elements. WoW is considered as the most successful MMORPG in the world, as the "World of Warcraft" is also the game that skyrocketed the profit and market value of Blizzard Entertainment.

According to Computer History, the 2012 overview of the planned exhibit explained that gaming has been a huge part of computing, and gaming has pushed many of its technical developments forward. The multiplayer online role-playing games are a major commercial venture, which Blizzard's WoW is the most successful, and took up massive amounts of time for a large number of individuals.

The description of the Make Software: Change the World exhibit added that the exhibition explores the impact of software on the lives of people around the world through seven digital tools, such as "World of Warcraft," Photoshop, Car Crash Simulation, MRI, Wikipedia, MP3, as well as Texting. As the exhibition is designed for adults, families as well as schoolers, it features touchscreen interactive and multimedia, which include a Software Lab in the center of the exhibition where guests can explore coding hands-on.
