China smartphones brands have becoming competitive globally specifically with the dishing out of new smartphones in the market that showcase innovative features that both amazed and stunned consumers. The affordability is never jeopardized, though, with these China made smartphones including that of Huawei and Xiao Mi. Both companies have produced great phones that would judge the quality of its innovation and this time let's start dissecting Xiaomi's Mi 5s and unashamedly big phone Huawei's Mate 9.

When it comes to display size Xiaomi Mi 5s is smaller compared with Huawei Mate 9. Mi 5s features a 5.15 -inch full HD display screen with Force Touch while Mate 9 packs a 6 inch display. Mi 5 used 16 LED lights and come with pixel densities of 428ppi. The 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the Mi5s sports a pressure sensitive display, Gadgets 360 reported.

Mate 9, on the other hand, features only a 1080p screen, however, Trusted Reviews noted that the lack of the tip-top resolution does not really bother much on the display. It added that with Mate 9, colors are bright without being oversaturated and deeper shades, such as reds, blues and greens, are lovely and rich. Under the hood the Mi 5s is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor while Huawei's Mate 9 uses a Kirin 960 processing unit.

For the finger print sensor, both phones have this impressive feature, however, the fingerprint sensor on the Xiaomi Mi 5s is one of the highlights of the device, as this is one of the first examples of an under-glass fingerprint solution on a smartphone. The device still features an indentation in the glass to give users tactile feedback about the position of the reader, but the reader itself is placed beneath the cover glass, Android Authority reported.

Meanwhile, the circular fingerprint sensor of Mate 9 also shows a fast and accurate scanner. The main concern though is the small-sized sensor, which can sometimes make it tough to hit, sources added.

Xiaomi Mi 5s sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX378 CMOS sensor. f/2.0 aperture, and PDAF. It is capable of recording 4K videos apart from 1080p and 720p videos. It also sports 4-megapixel front camera, with large 2-micron pixels. Xiaomi Touts that the Mi 5s comes with ultra-light-sensitive camera, while Mate 9 packs a dual 20MP + 12 MP, f/2.2, OIS, 2x zoom, Leica optics and dual-LED flash.

In terms of battery, Mi 5s packs a 2300mAh battery while Huawei's Mate 9 has a non-removable Li-Po 4000mAh battery. It is worth noting that Xiaomi, which built itself upon online flash sales of bargain Android smartphones, never position themselves as a pure smart phone maker. Huawei, on the other hand, boasts of its long, strong history of manufacturing.
