Niantic is not done giving special events to "Pokémon GO" players. The developer has introduced a year-end event that will last until early January.

The year-end event, which was announced via Pokémon GO's blog, increases sightings of Eggs that spawn Pichu, Togepi, and other newly-found Pokémon that originally linger in the Johto region. The event began on the morning of Dec. 25 and will end on the afternoon of January 3, 2017 (PST).

During this period, "Pokémon GO" players will also see an abundance of the limited-edition Pikachu wearing Santa hats. In addition, trainers are awarded with one single-use Incubator every day after their first Photo Disc spin.

"Pokémon GO" has another special event scheduled from the afternoon of Dec. 30 until the afternoon of Jan. 8 (PST). There are increased spawns of the first partner Pokémon and the critters' Evolutions that were first spotted in the Kanto region.

Those Pokémon include Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard and Bulbasau, plus its evolved Ivysaur and Venusaur forms. There are more Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise spawns, too.

To help "Pokémon GO" catch more of these creatures, Niantic made its Lure Modules last much longer. The item now has a 60-minute effect instead of the usual 30 minutes.

Limited-time holiday packs are also offered to "Pokémon GO" trainers from Dec. 25 to Jan. 3. The in-game shop currently showcases for-sale gift boxes that are classified into Special, Great and Ultra tiers.

The Special box is worth 250 coins ($2.50) and contains 10x Great Balls and 2x Incubators, while the Great box that costs 550 coins ($5) contains 20x Great Balls and, 2x Incense, and 4x Incubators. The Ultra box is the priciest at 1500 coins ($12), with 20x Ultra Balls, 25x Incense and 6x Incubators, Forbes listed.

The holiday gift bundles are good hauls. According to Forbes, "Pokémon GO" players will get 400 coins worth of items for 250 coins with the Special box; 960 coins worth of items for 550 coins with the Great box; and 2550 coins worth of items for 1500 coins for the Ultra box. The extra Incubators are much appreciated for the hatching of baby Pokémon, which -- as mentioned earlier -- have more spawns thanks to the year-end holiday event.
