Following the footstep of Lenovo's Phab 2 Pro, Asus CEO Jerry Shen announced that the company is working on its second Google Tango smartphone. The latest device Asus Zenfone AR under Google Project Tango is one of the many smartphones being predicted to wow spectators during in the Consumer Electronics Show next year.

When devices have the Tango technology it will have environment-scanning augmented reality (AR), enabling unique use-cases in motion tracking and special depth sensing cameras. According to GSMarena, a Tango device can recognize and map physical spaces, as well as track objects and project virtual effects in real-world setting.

In the same report Shen confirmed that Asus Zenfone AR will come with advanced performance and functionality at a competitive price. He added that fans will be in for another standalone VR headset in the 3rd quarter next year with built-in cameras, sensors, and controllers.

Due to a reported lower than expected shipments from its past devices, Shen teased that the new model will feature an improved camera, Gadgets 360 reported. Forecast circulating about Asus Zenfone AR's release is in the second quarter of 2017.

It can be noted that Asus Zenfone AR's predecessor Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, was the world's first Tango smartphone, commercially produced from Google's Project Tango team that works on machine vision in mobile devices. Looking into Lenovo Phab 2 Pro features, positive reviews pinned it as a gadget that is promising due to being the first phone to ship with Google's new environment-scanning augmented reality (AR) set up.

With that being said, it just proves that the upcoming Asus Zenfone AR is something of value and something to brag about as it features a 6.4-inch QHD IPS display with four cameras bearing 8-megapixel front camera, 16-megapixel rear RGB camera, a depth-sensing infrared camera with an imager and emitter, and a motion tracking camera.

Asus Zenfone AR is truly depicting the true essence of cutting-edge technology and promising for many more to come.
