Ubisoft released a remastered version of the "Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection" to remove a bystander whose face looks strange with big eyes. However, the Assassin's Creed 2 remaster, which is now version 1.02, had fans mourning for losing the funny looking background character.

The dashboard for the 1.02 patch notes that there was a fix for the weird NPC face and that it was removed for the Assasin's Creed 2 remaster, Gamespot reported. The guy with the big eyes first became an issue in November in both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Ubisoft said there are random NPCs that populates the custscenes, and that it was just by chance that some of the gamers spotted that Florentine character with huge eyes.

But for the Assassin's Creed 2 remaster patch 1.02, that random big-eyed character will never appear for the cutscene at all, Polygon reported. The remastered version will also fix certain background music issues and synchronization points.

However, this enhancement has actually backfired. It turns out that the weird big eyed Florentine man has slowly became like a rare Pokemon that everybody would like to catch. Like an urban legend that everybody want to find out if it is real and see it for themselves. The popularity of that character has actually spread like wildfire among Assassin's Creed fans.

Some reactions for the Assassin's Creed 2 remaster even mourned for the loss of the weird character saying RIP to the background character. Some even suggested that he be turned into a special unlockable character or even an unlockable gameplay where everybody in the scene looks like him.

Some other more serious reactions are disappointed that Ubisoft has time to fix these small issue, but still the Assassin's Creed: Unity still looks horrible for some.
