It would seem that anime fans all over will be thrilled to know that the much aniticipated "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" Season 2 might be released sometime in 2018. After the success of the intial premiere of the franchise, fans are wondering whether there will be another season in the works. For the meantime, fans can check out the upcoming season for "Attack on Titan" that is slated to be released in 2017, according to sources.

It was recently reported that a "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" Season 2 has been confirmed, Anime News Network learned. It was said that the announcement was made during the live-streaming of Fuji TV's Noitama Project Unveiling event.

It was further mentioned that the director responsible for the success of the original anime TV show has confirmed that they are working on a "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" Season 2. Moreover, they've also announced that prior to the release of the second season, they will be releasing a two compilation films and a drama CD for the television series.

It was said that the team behind "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" Season 2 and its original television anime is composed of the reunited Tetsuro Araki and Wit Studio, where the latter is known for coming up with "Attack on Titan."

That being said, Wit Studio was said to be working on a second season for "Attack on Titan," Comicbook reported. It was stated therein that Masashi Koizuka will be taking the helms of directing the second season with Tetsuro Araki as chief director.

Moreover, it was mentioned by the source that the second season for "Attack on Titan" will be released in April of 2017, albeit the initial announcement of having the follow up season slated this year.

Both "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" Season 2 and "Attack on Titan's" upcoming season are currently being worked on by Wit Studio, a Japanese animation studio founded back in 2012.
