The success of its first two season and the cliffhanger ending of its latest season only made fans passionately anticipate "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3. However, there are no exact release dates yet and reports speculate it will be on March 2017. Meanwhile, the story seems to be leading to an arc that would make Kaneki Ken the One-Eyed King or the head of the Aoiri Tree.

March 2017 release

"Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 has already been confirmed and earlier rumors claim that it would be released this year, Opptrends reported. The year is almost over, but there are still no signs of "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3.This delay created speculations that it will be released next year, specifically in March 2017.

The delay of "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 is due to the change in management from Studio Pierrot to Madman Entertainment, the creators of popular anime "One Punch Man" and "Death Note."

 Another theory is that a movie adaptation of the series is under production and there are not enough man power to support the series yet.

Another reason is that the one who penned "Tokyo Ghoul" wants to stick with the overall theme of the series, which is why the writer needs time.

Plot

"Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 is expected to have darker themes with main protagonist Kaneki Ken taking up the role as the investigator, MStar News reported. According to reports, he will battle Souta or Futura to succeed as the Ghoul organization Aogiri Tree leader One-Eyed King.

The real identity of the One-Eyed King has always been a mystery and many fans speculate that Eto Yoshimura is the OEK. However, the manga version of the animated series shows that Eto is only working with OEK. So, Kishou Arima turned out to be the OEK, but he will turn over his title to a successor, who is rumored to be Kaneki Ken.
