The Samsung Galaxy S8 latest update reveals that the flagship device will be the first to use Bluetooth 5.0 and the Y-OCTA screen featuring optical fingerprint recognition technologies. Moreover, the S8 may have a better Siri with either the all-new Viv Smart Assistant or the Google Assistant, which may be included in the Samsung-Google patent sharing.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 has been widely speculated because Samsung has a reputation of unveiling its latest technoloies in its flagship devices. Consumers are now anticipating what the S8 can offer that its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and its variant, the S7 Edge have not.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Uses Bluetooth 5.0

The Samsung Galaxy S8 latest update stems from a rumor that the device may be the first to use the newly-launched Bluetooth 5.0, The Indian Express Tech has learned. According to the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), the Bluetooth 5 is quadruple in range, double the speed and eight times bigger in broadcast message capacity when compared to its predecessor the Bluetooth 4.2.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Display and Processor

Other Samsung Galaxy S8 rumors include the 5.7-in. screen with Super AMOLED display at 4K resolution and a bigger variant, the S8 Plus, with a 6.1-in. edge-to-edge display.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor in 6GB RAM with 256GB storage. Outside the United States, the S7 will have the Exynos 9 series System-on-Chips (SoC).

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Optical Fingerprint Recognition Technology

The Samsung Galaxy S8 will use a new technology in fingerprint detection, which can now be detected through glass and enabled the device to ditch the physical home button. The Y-OCTA screen featured in Note 7 will be used wherein sensors are embedded directly into the display panel instead of being inserted between the display and protective glass cover.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Gets Own Siri

The Samsung Galaxy S8 latest update reveals that the South Korean may abandoned the all-new Viv Smart Assistant and opt for the Google Assistant instead. The decision may come from the Samsung-Google patent sharing in 2014, which also allowed Samsung to get the Android Nougat according to BGR.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 may be unveiled at the World Mobile Congress 2017 in February. The Samsung flagship device is also waterproof, has no 3.5mm headphone jack, and may not even have the curved edge variant due to low demand.
